چکیده

Abstract Background Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome is a condition of transient cerebral vascular spasms, which usually presents with recurrent thunderclap headaches and recovers within 3 months. Several probable triggers underlying factors, such as sex hormones, vasoactive drugs, head trauma or surgery, tumors, have been implicated. Case presentation In this paper, we present 53-year-old woman normal lab tests who was radio-clinically diagnosed reversible vasoconstriction syndrome treated accordingly. Then, she experienced the recurrence RCVS after about 2 years 1 year in association high blood pressure, sugar, hypothyroidism, hyperlipidemia, urine metanephrine level 5 times higher than limit, suggesting diagnosis pheochromocytoma. After confirmation further imaging studies, surgical removal tumor resolved all signs symptoms. Conclusion Often underdiagnosed, pheochromocytoma could be an important associated RCVS. It for clinicians to bear mind while dealing similar cases headaches.

The laboratory findings have received some recent modifications. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) may be normal or near-normal (protein concentration<100 mg/dL,<15 white blood cells/μL, normal glucose).3 There is a characteristic pattern of radiographic features alongside suggestive clinical manifestations, which lead to a diagnosis of RVCS.This syndrome is characterized:1-clinically by acute-onset an...

Delayed Positivization of Cerebral Angiography in Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome (RCVS) Presenting with Recurrent Subarachnoid Haemorrhage

Benign angiopathy of the central nervous system is a clinical syndrome with evidence of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction (RCVS). Haemorrhagic stroke, either subarachnoid or intracerebral is an unusual presentation of RCVS. We describe a case of RCVS presenting with a subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), with rebleeding and onset of hydrocephalus during the first week, and, notably, delayed evide...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is an under-recognised condition. It is characterised by sudden and severe headaches (of "thunderclap" type) associated with multifocal reversible narrowing of the intracranial arteries on neuroradiology. The diagnosis is often established with the resolution of headaches and vasoconstriction. We report two patients with RCVS and review the a...

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndromes (RCVS) are a group of disorders that have in common an acute presentation with headache, reversible vasoconstriction of cerebral arteries, with or without neurological signs and symptoms.
